Welcome to
Grahamstown, this site will help you find information on
where to stay and
what to do
in Grahamstown

Grahamstown is the capital of
Settlers Country and the Borders. It still feels like a strange English
transplant, which is emphasized by the lack of neon signs and billboards.
There are some find churches and 19th century buildings. There is
also a large student population attending the university, which adds some
life to the church going Grahamstown merchants. The town is known to be the
cathedral city. Prominent features of the city are its wide, tree-lined
streets, beautiful gardens and handsome buildings.
Grahamstown started as a military
post in the Fourth Frontier War and it was not until the arrival of the
English settlers of 1820 that Grahamstown took on the proportions of a town.
