To enjoy South Africa to its fullest, you should arrive with an
open mind, be willing to adapt, and use your initiative. All Africa Volunteers lets you deal direct with the projects to safe admin costs to you and to ensure that all funds go directly to the projects you are trying to support. We are based in Jeffreys Bay so we offer projects in our general area to be close by to offer any assistance needed.
The Eastern Cape is the poorest and most rural of all the areas in South Africa with the greatest opportunities to make a difference by donating your time and energy. All projects start from Port Elizabeth, from where you will be transported to your projects.
We have three formats available for volunteers:
Student Volunteers Min stay at project 3 Months - You can join any of our projects as a student for practical experience. Additionally can join a guided tour to Cape Town during or after your stay.
Individual Volunteers Min stay at project 1 Month - You can join any of our projects as a individual traveler and enjoy your experience on your own meeting other individuals on the projects.
Additionally can join a guided tour to
Cape Town during or after your project.
Working
as a
volunteer
you
will
have
the
rare
opportunity
of
hand
rearing
lion
cubs
of
different
ages.
Hand
rearing
means
being
responsible
for
the
cubs’
wellbeing.
Giving
the
cubs
comfort,
feeding
them
with
milk
formula
from a
bottle.
Replacing
their
mother
in all
ways.
Doing
the
mothers’
job of
assisting
them
to
urinate
and
defecate.
(For
at
least
the
first
three
weeks
as
they
cannot
do
this
for
themselves).
Cuddling
and
just
sitting
with
them
you
will
enjoy
your
days
in the
company
of the
most
sociable
of all
cats.
They
love
to
fall
asleep
on
your
lap!

• Social development
programs: food parcels, clothing bank, informal groups, transporting the
needy to clinics and hospital • Training Center:
Home management, Educare, frail care, baking, knitting, sewing and

making, cabinet making, lead
sinkers and diving weights, garden services. • Shelters (day /
night) for the homeless of all age
groups.

unemployment
rate
of 90%
this
community
can
really
do
with
your
help.
A new
playschool
has
been
built
for
the
local
kids
but
teachers
and
social
workers
are
overburdened
in the
crèche
and
local
school.
Working
with
the
kids
in the
community
is
very
rewarding
and
fun as
the
really
are
fascinated
by
people
from
other
countries
sharing
stories
and
new
games
to
play
with
them.
